I am a small landowner - can Forester's Co-Op help me manage my property?

Yes. Depending on your goals and objectives we offer Timber Harvest Plan (THP) and Nonindustrial Timber Management Plan (NTMP) preparation services in accordance with California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) and California Forest Practice Rules standards.

Are there cost-sharing programs that are avaialble to decrease the wildfire risk of my property?

Yes and the program we would enter you in is called the California Forest Improvement Program project (CFIP). CFIP is a state funded cost share program that can provide small private land owners with funding to manage their forest lands. The objective of this program is to provide financial subsidy to small land owners (20-5,000 acres) who want to responsibly manage and maintain the health of the resources on their property. Examples of qualifying work include:

  • RPF Supervision
  • Site Preparation
  • Trees and PlantingTree Shelters
  • Pre-commercial thinning
  • Pruning
  • Release
  • Follow-up/slash disposal (herbicide included)
  • Land conservation-includes erosion control, road rehabilitation & wildlife/fisheries projects
CFIP may grant up to 75% ($50,000 Max) of the cost of your project as a reimbursement to you. Participation in the CFIP Program requires the development of a California Cooperative Forest Management Plan with the assistance of a Registered Professional Forester (RPF).
