Geographic Information Services

Forester’s Co-Op implements an advanced GIS/GPS system based on ESRI and Trimble software. This system includes a high speed Dell computer with Microsoft software and ArcViw 3.2 and ArcGIS 9x software. ArcInfo 9.x allows for integration with assortment of data including AutoCad files, raster data sets, as well as vector points, polygons, and lines. This system is complimented by a plotter and three cartographic printers for detailed large-scale maps. Our field data collection utilizes the 2005 Trimble Ranger Handheld Data Recorders and/or the Trimble Geo – “III”, “XT” & “XH” GPS units with Hurricane and Zephyr Antennas. This allows for sub-meter accuracy when imported into our GIS software creating a more complete and accurate product.
